I currently sit in a motel in Wingdale, NY. It's a small town without a large grocery store. The motel owner gave us (Wolfman) a ride to a large grocery store about 5 miles away so we could resupply. We had a good week but hard as we still had more rocks to climb. It has been about 9 days since we took a day off so our bodies were just about worn out. We had stretched the last 3 days just to get to Wingdale before the rain moved in. We should hike into Massachusetts tomorrow dropping the mileage to 740 to Katahdin. Injury reporter, lost 1 toenail, right knee a little sore but I hope it's due to the long days to get here. I'd lost about 15 pounds but feel good and even shaved my beard. It's getting a little warm during the day and the black flies seem to really like this southern boy. Spirit is high but this is the time your mind plays with you. Keep the prayers coming.

May 1
Just completed 3 weeks and hiked 192 miles. The cold weather has created some problems but overall things are good. Today cold rainy weather forced me to take day off but will be back on trail early tomorrow. My legs and backs have been strong and hiking has been enjoyable. NJ has been a beautiful state to hike and keeps changing so you don't get bored. I have been having some problem with blog, hope this post.

April 22, 2016 Update
Just a quick update to tell everyone I'm still kicking and walking my little feet off. I'm in Danielsville, PA and have about 30 miles and I will be out of rocky, did I say rockyyyy Pennsylvania and entering New Jersey. Weather has gotten warmer at night with last night being nice (40 degrees). I have now walked more miles then remaining with only 960 miles to go.
Thanks for all the prayers, miss you all, heading to town for my day off.

April 17 Update
The weather has been great the last few days. I hiked 64 miles my first complete week and went to Pine Grove, PA for rest, bath, resupply and real FOOD. I hike 6 days and then rest in town 2 nights. You have to make arrangements to get to town if the trail doesn't get you near or walk. Some hotels will pick you up free or for a charge. I take 2 nights as 1 doesn't really allow enough time to get everything done and really rest. I didn't mention washing your clothes . I see very few AT hikers as they have not made it this far north yet but there coming. I am hiking with a lady (Smile) whom I helped of the trail last year with a bad ankle injury. The odds of us meeting not knowing where the other would start or when has to be almost impossible. She helps to slow me down and keep a good pace plus with so few hikers it's nice to have someone to talk with. It's really gratifying to plan a week, work around the weather, different terrain and then see things fall in place or fall apart knowing every week is different. The scenery is unbelievable, it's you, nature and God. It's 2:22 am as I made my nightly trip to the woods, stars filling the sky, a cool 44 +/- degree and the moon is shining brightly. I think of family, friends, the coming day and realize how truly "Blest" I am to have this wonderful opportunity.
God Bless all
